Princess Magnolia card and a huge storewide sale from my sweet friend Sheila

I made this card back in May and totally forgot to post it here. I have to say this card took me hours but I loved the final result. I used all different shades of E40's (copic markers) for the castle and stairs and then I dotted different green's for the tree's and bushes. I cut out my Princess Magnolia to help position her so that most of the background I spent so long on would show lol! I may try masking her next time.

My friend Sheila who I just adore is having a massive Canada Day Sale at her store Scrappingreatdeals.com. She is giving 15% off storewide until July 4th!!! Okay I told myself no more shopping for craft supplies for the next few days but I can't resist this! So click here to shop online or perhaps I will bump into you in the store hee hee!

Cheers and have a great day! Andi

All things Unity challenge 9

This week's challenge to get your mojo hopping at All things Unity is to do a card inspired by this photo of beautiful soap. I chose to inspire my challenge by doing the white on white aspect of this card. Using white cardstock I used one of my embossing folders from SU to add the flower elements and added some white ribbon. This allowed me to add clean lines without adding colour to my layout. I then used one of my Unity quote stamps that came in one of my KOM to sum up the feeling of this card. This challenge was just that for me, a challenge, as I don't work well with white spaces and it's something I challenge myself to try once in awhile. If you would like to play along hop on over to the challenge blog to find out the deets and upload your creation. I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Andi

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge- anything but a square card

This week's challenge at KK stamps is to make a card any shape except for the standard square shape most of us use. I used my largest Nestability to cut out the shape for this card and for the layer. I picked up some drool worthy butterfly paper by Prima from SGD and wanted to use it. I happened to find a sentiment that came with Victoria from the Crissy's Cuties line from Kraftin' Kimmie stamps and let's face it...it was the perfect touch for this card! A friend of mine has been going through a very hard time and having to take some different directions in life than they had planned or expected so this card was made for her and her partner to remind them that change can sometimes bring the butterflies and lead to a better place. I gave it to her tonight and we hugged it out lol. Inside I wrote 'During some of my most challenging moments in life doors opened for me to incredible experiences that wouldn't have been available otherwise. My wish for you is that this change turns out to be one of your butterflies in life." I thought I would share it as we all need to hear this from time to time in our lives.

One of the best colourer's I know, Melanie, is the hostess for this week's challenge. Hop on over to the challenge blog to see the details on how to play along and what's up for grabs to win! I encourage you to take a minute to look over what the rest of the DT created for this challenge...I tell you....this team rocks!!!!
Have a happy Saturday xoxox Andi

Paper Romance Challenge 4 (PRC4)

I hope you enjoyed last week's challenge of making an easel card for PRC3. I didn't get a chance to play last week but luckily I had some free time tonight to play along this week.

Your PRC  inspiration this week is 'buttons and bows'. Easy peasy for me as it's a fave embellishment. In fact- I tend to overdo it frequently lolz. Not sure how many of you have children graduating Grade 8 this week but my oldest DD's grad was last night. Phew...so many emotions! Happy...stressed....excited...sick to my belly....fear....exhilaration....but mostly joy. I loved watching her receive her diploma and have a beautiful smile of confidence and success on her lovely face. She received many gifts, she was quite spoiled actually, and so I am helping her make up some Thank you cards to send. She sent them all a 'facebook' thank you but I think a card would also be a nice touch.

For my card I used an older High Hopes image called "Bunny Love".I checked and Amy has this adorable stamp in stock. Click on the name above to be taken to that page. As well...have you seen all the new lovely goodies Amy has in her Paper Romance store? She has the new Dustin Pike release and also the stamps for the new High Hopes designer Melissa Jenkins. Love them all! I have already sent Amy my wish list....they can't get here fast enough! Amy is able to do custom orders for High Hopes stamps including older images even if they aren't shown on her site. Just contact her and she will get them for you. It's great to have connections like that eh? lol.

Before you head on over to the PRC challenge blog to see the rest of the lovely DT creations I want to share that the blog candy is still open until June 30th. As well don't forget about the sale going on this month at Paper Romance! 10% off orders of $25 or more! Use code word PRChallenges

Kraftin' Kimmies weekly challenge- more summertime inspiration

This week's challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie stamps is to use some summer inspired colours of blue, yellow and tan. Jeanne on the DT is the hostess for this challenge. I have to say I was excited when I first found out I would be working with Jeanne. She looked like such an innocent sweet lady. Wooo HOOOO was I wrong. I met my newest partner in crime. If it's not me starting the trouble it's Jeanne. Hee Hee, I can't wait to meet her in person one day. I am sure I will have lots of stories to share. Some to be shared on the blog...some..well maybe not so much lolz!

I used Surfer Miles for this challenge and had to go to my fave LSS Scrappingreatdeals to grab some new paper from Imaginesce with the cutest beach and fishy look eva! I then used a kraft card base to add the 'tan' to my card. Also Miles is pretty tan himself. He is such a hot lil' man dontcha think?

Kraftin' Kimmie's beach scene challenge

Today's challenge at the Kraftin' Kimmie challenge blog is to make a beachy scene. Lucky for me Miles stepped up with his cute tube and helped me create a quick and simple card. I made it for my nephew's birthday next week but I am not sure if the sentiment is too cheeky for him hee hee. I should probably run it past his mom first.

Click here to see more of the DT's beachy scenes and I am pretty sure most if not all are featuring more sneak peeks of Kraftin' Kimmie's June release. Only one more day!!!!

So Hang Ten and have a great day! Andi

Kraftin' Kimmie sneaky peaky- Oh Miles, what will you get into next

I just love Miles from Kraftin' Kimmie's new artist Steven. I don't have a lot of young boy stamps and I think Miles fills that void nicely. I have tons of cutesy ones for little boys and some for teens but that in between phase- yep- Miles it is!
I would be remiss if I didn't that the large team that helped make this card last night. To all my girls at SGD who helped to put this card together right down to helping me choose papers I thank you. What looks like a simple card took quite a bit of discussion to create. Well they either had to help me pick everything out or I was going to keep asking them so they decided it was best to get me to shut up lolz!!!!!!!!
I hope you are all enjoying the previews so far. Click here to go to the challenge blog to be linked to the DT playing along today. Personally I have been blown away by the creativity of my fellow DT. I also got to hear some amazing feedback last night from my SGD crew over how much they are adoring this release. So what do you think...could this be Kimmie's most successful release to date? Me thinks so.....=)

Sneaky Peeky Day 2!

*This is my second post for today, please scroll down for my Paper Romance Challenge card*

Oh what a sweetie! Arianna is the name of this darling mermaid and her sea horses. I had so much fun colouring her hair and making it sparkle. I will admit I went stickle crazy...I uncap that bottle and have a hard time not blinging up ever surface of my card...I feel better after confessing that so thank you hee hee. I apologize for the poor lighting on my cards. Still struggling without my lightbox.

I hope you also enjoyed yesterday's sneak peek's and also fallen in love with Miles the Mouse like I have. What a cheeky fella!

Okay, now go grab a drink and hop on over to our challenge blog to see some more Krafty Kreations which put my cards to shame. Love what these girls can do! Andi

June Sneaky Peeky for Kraftin' Kimmie stamps

I am loving the new Miles the Mouse images from Kraftin' Kimmie's new artist- Steven Leary. Steven is our first official Krafty Guy. Wonder if we can get him to wear a t-shirt that says this hee hee. This Miles the Mouse image is called Beach Bum Miles and will be available this coming Sunday! I had bought these seashell and seahorse stickers to use with this release and I paired it up with some of my treasured American Crafts paper stash. I kept this card simple and used this week's sketch from CPS blog for my inspiration. Poor Miles doesn't realize though that he missed his 'cheeks' while putting on the sunscreen as they look rather pink. Poor lil' mousie hee hee.

This release is a special one as it not only has a brand new artist joining the team but it's also new Kraftin' Kimmie Kit time! This month's kit includes-

- 6 beautiful Mermaid images designed by Annie
- 6 matching accessory stamps
- a set of specially coordinating Mermaid sentiments
- AND it will only available at the KKS Shop as a kit, with a 20% discount for a limited time!!

Now hop on over to the challenge blog or to the other Krafty Girls which you can find in my sidebar for more sneaky peeky's!!! Andi

One of my first Magnolia's. I know I am slow on the trends here lol

Just a quick post today as I am off to spend time with the family today. Here is one of the first Magnolia I have done and it's for the advanced copic class at SGD. I used some new paper Sheila had in stock to go with my image. Purple and green are 2 of my fave colours so this was so fun to do. I had fun colouring her also while hanging out with Lori, Angie and Sheila at Angie's house last Saturday. We tried to give me a funky purple streak in my hair (Angie is also a hairdresser) but it got lost in my auburn hair. It was hard to colour while laughing so hard and I can't wait to do it again.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend! Andi xoxo

Let's get cardmaking old skool style

This week's challenge for Kraftin' Kimmie stamps is to use triangles on your card. Whenever I use triangles I always think back to my first excursions into scrapbooking way before cardmaking when all I knew was Creative Memories scrapbooking style. I was all about the triangles and paper strips. Anyone else have those memories too? Yep all about the triangles overlapping each other and stickers all over the place. I still have my old pages while I know others have redone theirs as it reminds me of my first attempts. Boy oh boy did I think I was incredible at it too! Sometimes my triangles overlapped and I felt so cutting edge hee hee!

I used the Shout Out image from the Cindy and Mindy line and inside it says I'm gonna shout it out loud...Happy Birthday! I used 2 triangles on my card and kept it pretty simple. I made it for my youngest DD to take to a birthday party but I  think I will remove the pins first- the parent's may not appreciate it lolz!

To play along with us and our sweet stampin mama Diana's challenge click here to go to the challenge blog and read all the deets! I hope you have a fabulous Saturday!
