PRC9- Let's make a birthday card!

It's party time over at the Paper Romance Challenge blog! I played with Ele-fun which was one of the June Dustin Pike High Hopes release stamps. I adore this elephant as he is so unisex when it comes to a card type. As I hardly make masculine cards this one is for the card stash my hubby likes to raid. I used some new paper in my stash that had matching banner ribbon. So fun! I suppose I could have made some myself but let's face it- that's very unlikely to happen hee hee!

This week Paper Romance is sponsoring the Challenge Blog Inspirational Card sketches and I have included the sketch above my card if you would like to use it as well. It was a great one to use!

Would you like to play along with us and win a $5 gift certificate for Paper Romance? Click here to go to our challenge blog to read all the details and to drool over all the DT creations to help get those creative juices flowing! Cheers..Andi

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge- I have Mono...

Monochromatic Fever that is!

One of my fave stampers eva- our very own talented Michele has challenged us to do a monochromatic card- or at least mostly mono hee hee. I did add a splash of colour by colouring her feather a soft purple. I embossed my dancing girl Suzette with black embossing powder on white cardstock. I then dug around in my stash and found some delicious flocked white paper. Except you can't see the flocking in this photo- but it's there. I also had a beautiful black satin bow tied by my friend Wheels that I actually designed this card around. Yep I designed it around a bow hee hee. I then saw this black pinstriped paper over at SGD last night and HAD to get it for the card. Seriously takes it up a notch. I also had the rest of the embellishments left over from the monthly SGD card kits so it all came together nicely. I have been moaning and groaning about my lack of creativity- no matter how hard I tried to force it I just couldn't make cards I was happy with. But this card makes me feel like my groove is kicking back into gear. Thanks for the kick in the pants Michele!

Now of course I have already seen the rest of the DT's cards- let's just say there are some days I want to give up and throw my markers in the river these girls are soo good! Click here and go to the challenge blog and see for yourself and also for this challenge's details. You have 2 week's to play along this time!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend with your family and friends- xoxo Andi

PRC8- Colour Challenge

This week over at the Paper Romance challenge blog I am the hostess with the mostest...can I say that about myself? I have issued a colour challenge using one of my forgotten but favourite Summer colour combos- Chocolate/Teal/White. It is just a crisp and catch your eye kinda combo. Reminds me of my favourite kind of chocolate- Dark Mint Chocolate- MMMmmmmm..

For this card my hubby wanted me to keep it really really simple. Huge struggle this go around! Not sure if I can resist going back and adding more to it like lace, etc., but this is supposed to be a 'manly' card. I used Popcorn the Bear- Fishing set. I also used a sketch from I {heart} 2 Stamp blog as my inspiration. I then used almost the last of my cute chocolate and teal ribbon that also reminds me of Dark Mint chocolate...mmmmmm.... Hmmm.. think I need  a chocolate fix today after this. What about you?

A Sneak Peek and a Weekly challenge!

Okay..isn't she fab.u.lous!!!! Goldilocks is the coolest chick around with her amazing hair! I actually spent 40 mins JUST playing around with colouring her hair. This week's Kraftin' Kimmie stamps challenge by the amazing cardmaker Krista is to have bows on your card. I have 3 counting the 2 in her hair. To give you an idea of how big she is this is a 6x6 card and look how awesome her size is on such a large card. I used some of my SU paper with trees that made me think of Goldilocks's story. It's funny how such small things make you feel happy when you are making cards hee hee!

Okay, I know you want her- how could you not. Be sure to come back tomorrow to see more eye candy plus you get to finally order some of this month's sweet release! Until then pop over to the challenge blog to read the challenge details so you can play to win and enjoy all the amazing DT creations! Cheers, Andrea

Kraftin' Kimmie July Sneaky Peeky time!

Katie- Cinderella

Sara- Swan Princess

Andrea- Bikini Maisie

**This is my second post for the day, scroll down for my Paper Romance challenge card**

I say this every month but I just love sneak peek time! I had some little helpers with me madly getting cards ready to help show off Kimmie's new stamps! My niece and my youngest were going crazy inking up images, colouring them in, discarding any 'not good enough' and finding the perfect paper and embellishments. It was a treat to watch! Not a treat- them wanting to use my copics. I allow my daughter to use them when I am with her as she knows how expensive and important to me they are. But my sweet lil' 7 year old niece- well she tries so hard to be careful but let's face it Auntie's nervous eye twitch was in high gear so she had to use 'just' my SU markers- which I may point out aren't cheap either lolz! I am loving their cards though and they were soooo proud to make them to help out 'our Kimmie'.

I picked Bikini Maisie for my first sneak peek and she is a hoot to play with! I had actually cut out all my paper for her then found a new piece of the Basic Grey Olivia paper with a pink leopard print and it had cougar..I mean mouse...written all over it! I also used the paper to decorate her wild bathing suit. Doesn't she look smokin'!!!

To see more of the new releases hop over to the challenge blog and see what my fellow team members have created...seriously...beautiful! Come on back tomorrow for more! Cheers, Andi

Paper Romance challenge- Let's get Stitching!

Today for PRC7 we are challenged by the uber talented Cindy to add stitching to our card. It can be hand sewn, by machine or if you are terrible at stitching like me- faux stitching. I am loving the whimsical nature of this card! I used the new High Hopes stamp by MelJen called Piggy Bath and some of my old SU scraps. I coloured my cute piggy with copics and adding colour inside my circle by using wheat versamark ink. Loving the wheat- it's a must own! I then took a brown marker and faked it! I did add paper pierced dots (of course using my handy Tim Holtz ruler) for the dots on the central layer. Let's just say without Timmy and me working together...it looks like I had 5 large glasses of wine before I started adding my pierced dots. I can't make anything straight- in fact most of my cards are crooked in some way. Okay...now don't go back up there and look for it tee hee!

For more details on this week's challenge hop on over to the PRC challenge blog and read the details and see the other amazing DT creations. Let's just say I am in incredible company!

Cheers, Andi

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge - Get out the pink!

This week's challenge comes to you from a very talented stamper who pours her heart and soul into her creations. I adore her quirkiness and how she fully embraces her 'flaws'. Yep, you guessed it...it's ME!!! Ha ha okay that may have been a wee bit too much lol. Seriously I am the hostess for this week's KKS challenge and I want you to use lots of pink on your cards. I have already peeked in our DT folder to see what the team has made and it is soooo pink and lovely! I used more of my new Olivia paper from Basic Grey that I picked up at SGD this week and some of my crystals I coloured with my copics to match.

Because I am the hostess that means the prize up for grabs for playing along this week is this lovely mermaid Nerissa. To see the pink loveliness for yourself click here to go to the challenge blog and see the rest of the challenge deets. Ciao! Andi

Sharing my Unity card

Today I am hosting the All things Unity Friends with Flair post over at our challenge blog but I also wanted to share my card here with you. I used my new Unity stamps from my June KOTM and some prism paper I picked up from SGD. I kept the colour and the card simple and I have to admit I love how it turned out!

I hope you have a great Friday and find a way to beat the heat where ever you are. Andi

Paper Romance Challenge 6- Let's get out that glitter!

It's my week to host the challenge for Paper Romance and I went to my old favourite challenge- glitter! I am in love with sparkly things and I wish my nickname of sparkles came from that love- but alas it came from how easily I am distracted by things- especially things that glitter hee hee.

I used one of the new High Hope images Amy sent my by their new line with artist MelJen. I love this teacup mouse and had to have him right away! I also used some of my new Basic Gray Olivia paper and matching stickers for my card. Then the old glitter came shaking out to add the sparkles and the bling bling I was looking for on my card. I got a little crazy and tried to 'go outside of the box' and used my dimensional glaze and somehow I had it at about .5 inch thick. Soooo it had to go under my lamp to dry somewhat before I could photograph it without it sliding off the card. That's what I get for watching some Tim Holtz video's before going into my craft studio and thinking I'm a rock star like him. LOLZ! So it's now 1:30 am and my card is now safe to take a picture of...and I am wide awake with an early start time in the morning. I am really beginning to appreciate naps- why did I hate them so much when I was little. I LOVE naps now!

Alright enough gabbing from me tee hee. Click here to head on over to the Paper Romance challenge blog and see the challenge details so you can play to win. Oh and you will just love the glittering creations the DT has made as well. Thanks for doing such a great job on my challenge ladies! Andi

Final Whimsical Wednesday with the Diedrich Daredevils..

It is with sadness that I share that this will be our last Whimsical Wednesday post. With Jess's children getting busy with new pursuits Jess has made the hard decision to end the challenge blog. I have absolutely loved being part of this team and working with the sweet sketches her children have provided. As well, I have made some incredible cyber friendships that I will always appreciate. Thanks ladies for including me on this fun journey.

For our last challenge you again have a whole month to participate. There is also a huge prize to be won! Boy do I wish I could enter to win hee hee. The challenge is to use the inspiration photo of the yummy cupcake by therecipegirl.com to help you make your card. I actually made two cards to help ease my sadness at the end of this group. I used the colours red, white and blue (as well as a few others) and chose papers that had these colour elements. I used some new Tim Holtz stamps I picked up today at scrappingreatdeals.com- they hadn't even been priced or put online yet lolz! The paper is also from Webster's pages Vellum package that I also picked up there. I adore Webster's pages and can't stop buying it! Speaking of which my friend Sheila from SGD's is donating 3 new High Hopes unmounted stamps for the July prize!!! I love my sweet friend Sheila- thanks so much for helping us do a huge send off!

For the last time I invite you to hop on over to the challenge blog to get started on the challenge details or to see my fellow daredevil's delish creations. I have also included the links below. Good luck to those who enter and Happy Stamping to everyone!

Kraftin' Kimmie stamps challenge 36

I love Saturday's as it's my Kraftin' Kimmie day. Y'all know my BSF Kimmie has some of the best  images out there and I love having a reason to stop watching my hubby play his endless video games with my Friday night excuse of "Sorry babe, I have to go make a card for Kimmie right now". I used Cordelia on this vintage card. I know the colours aren't the first ones that come to mind when you think vintage but the papers are from Webster's pages and they have a vintage look but often use fun colour choices to help bring your card to life. I have to admit the primary colours are hard for me to work with so by choosing Cordelia with her many shells, etc. it gave me more of a chance to bring more colour into my image to pull together the card.

For my card I used the AMAZING sketch my sweet Donna put together to challenge us with this Saturday. For more details and to see what stamp Donna used on her card (that's the one you can win) click here to go to the challenge blog and read all the details and see the gorgeous creations. xoxox Andi

Happy Canada Day and it's time for a Paper Romance challenge!

Wooooo Hooooo- HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!!!

Today we are celebrating our special day- usually with bbq's, family and friend time and of course fireworks! Not sure what we are going to do yet today but the sun is shining and it's a perfect day to spend together.

It's also time for another Paper Romance Challenge. In honour of our American DT members we were challenged to use Red/White and Blue. Very hard colours to work with for me as I stay away from Primary colours but I found this paper from Webster's pages that worked perfectly. I wanted to show again my card that I made for Canada Day along with my tribute card to my American friends to help us all celebrate.

To play along and win a prize from Paper Romance click here to go to the challenge blog and read all the details. And have a fabulous day no matter where you are!!!
