KKS weekly challenge- Primarily Purple (the best colour in the wOrLd!!)

It's challenge time again and it's my turn to be the hostess. So I basically thought this is my chance to bring more purple to the world! Yep, purple is my fave colour and anytime I can get a chance to have purple paradise I am all for it. All you have to do today to play and hopefully win this week's challenge is to make your card 'primarily purple' and dedicate it to me. Okay you don't need to dedicate it to me but the purple part is true hee hee.

I got to play at Kimmie's house with Kimmie and Angie and we had so much fun. I played with Virginia and my Bo Bunny paper- love it!!!!! Great day, great friends, great colouring= perfect krafty day :).

Paper Romance challenge- Scrunched Ribbon with Itty Bitty's

Seriously....SERIOUSLY..!!! Aren't these two so cute! I am not sure if they are monsters or aliens but how adorable! I HAD to have this stamp 'Nicest place to be' from the new Unity collection Itty Bittys and was soooo excited when Amy started carrying them at Paper Romance. I coloured them with my copics and grabbed some of my Jack and Jill paper by Prima. Then came the 'challenge' part of the card- and it was a bit of a challenge for me- to have scrunched ribbon on my card. I frayed the ends of my satin ribbon so I could grab a few strands and pull on them to create the scrunching. It took me a few tries- my chubby fingers didn't want to work with me today! Then I glued that sucker down before I lost anymore of my scrunching hee hee. Zip dry works wonders let me tell you!

To see some more amazing scrunched ribbon click here to go to the challenge blog and also read about Amy's 6 month DT call happening right now. Cheers! Andi

I think I need a pair! This is just a quick post for today. I am working on organizing my craft room and this doesn't happen very often...at all hee hee! Have a great day! Andi

Oh Alice and Kraftin' Kimmie stamps play together for today's challenge

"They don't keep this room so tidy as the other,' Alice thought to herself, as she noticed several of the chessmen down in the hearth among the cinders: but in another moment, with a little `Oh!' of surprise, she was down on her hands and knees watching them. The chessmen were walking about, two and two!

`Here are the Red King and the Red Queen,' Alice said (in a whisper, for fear of frightening them), `and there are the White King and the White Queen sitting on the edge of the shovel -- and here are two castles walking arm in arm..."

--Ch. 1: Through the Looking Glass

I have combined 2 challenges today for my cards as they fit perfectly together! The challenge over at 'Oh Alice' is to use some aspect of the game of chess. You might want to use a checkerboard pattern, feature a King, Queen, Knight or Castle (Rook). Or perhaps there is another aspect of the game we haven't thought of yet. On my card I used 'Sir Galahad' the Knight from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps to add my 'chess' component to my card. See that amazing swirl on my card. That is a new stamp I picked up at SGD that I am in love with by Impression Obsession. I then used the sketch that is the challenge for KKS this week by the amazing Michele to put my card together. A fabulous sketch I will absolutely use again and again! Junior Krafty girl Katie also wanted to play along with the challenge and used the new stamp Virginia to play along. I just love how her colouring with copics has evolved and she explained to me tonight how she adds random darker colours in the hair to colour like Krista hee hee!

Do you want to play along with us? Click here to go to the Kraftin' Kimmie stamps challenge blog to see the sketch to play along to win AND you can win even further by clicking here to go to the 'Oh Alice' challenge blog and read the deets on how to play to win there as well. Love it! Lots of ways to get the mojo rocking and perhaps win some free goodies. Good luck! Andi

Look at me posting on a Friday- playing along with Card Positioning systems...

This week over at Card Positioning Systems KKS is hosting the weekly challenge. Here is my card using their layout. I went over to Kimmie's yesterday and we had soooo much fun colouring our little hearts out!!!! This card is using Frosty the Snowmouse and some of my new Echo Park Christmas paper.

Yep so I packed up early and headed over to Kimmie's yesterday and made myself right at home. I used her bone folder, tape, pop dots, trimmer, ribbon, punches and cardstock. Hee hee. She had to keep looking for stuff over in my pile and teased me about using up all her tape. I of course had to state that this was just a ploy on her part to get me to buy her more double sided tape. The cheek of her!!! I refused of course lol!!! We are terrible to each other- constant teasing and loud loud laughing! Oh and Kimmie singing the same 2 lines of a song all day until I forced her to get 'real music' going or I was going to start singing as well. Not a nice sound on the ears my singing so it made her move right quick to get music we both like on. We have to do that or one of us will complain constantly about the others choice of music hee hee! I had so much fun and it's like another home to me. Obviously as I help myself to what I want to eat or drink and make not only myself a cup of tea but one for Mr. Kimmie too lol!!!! I must have wore her out as I don't think I had driven off her street before she had fallen into a 2 hour nap hee hee! Good times!

It's a beautiful day here in Ontario today and I have my hubby home with me. He probably expects me to spend some time with him so I better get going. HOpe you have a crafty day! Andi

Paper Romance Challenge 21- A circle card with a Unity Itty bitty....

This week's challenge is brought to us by the uber talented Cindy Haffner and she'd like us to make a circle card. I used one of Paper Romance's new Itty Bitty stamps- Happy for This- from Unity Stamps as the focal point for my card. I then used my spellbinders and some of the new Pink Paislee Parisian paper...yummmm....sorry this paper is delectable...to help give my card a romantic edge with the French writing in the background. I then added gems to my card and coloured ever second one dark grey with one of my copics. Love making my embellies match on my own. Makes me feel thrifty even though I own an immense amount of craft supplies hee hee!

Hope you like  my challenge card. Hop on over to the Paper Romance challenge blog to see the other DT creations and see how you can play to win. Also Amy's Design Team call is still open and looking for applicants. We would love for you to join us! Cheers..Andi xoxo

Blog Candy in honour of my BSF- Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps giveaway....

I have been holding onto some Kraftin' Kimmie stamps to give away in honour of my BSF Kraftin' Kimmie and her successful first year of business. Last month we celebrated our one year anniversary with sales, prizes and hops and I just wanted to stretch out the party a bit longer. I mean- I celebrate my birthday MONTH not day hee hee!

So I may  have shared before that I met my BSF Kimmie online at splitcoaststampers and after deeming each other 'safe' and 'harmless' except for enabling wild craft spending we met in person and friends since then. What I would like to know for a chance to win is how you met your BSF? Any more cool online stories or craft store encounters where you rejoiced at finding a kindred soul whose heart beat faster at finding ribbon spools on sale?

For a second chance to win leave me a second comment if you share this on your blog to help spread the word. Please note you must leave your blog addy to be verified and make sure you leave 2 comments in total.

I will pick the winner on Nov 8th so there is lots of time to enter and win.

So what will you win? To celebrate I am giving away 2 stamps from our first release- Charlotte and my fave- Lillith. In fact in the colour picture of Lillith below and on the KKS website features my colouring. It 'may' have something to do with her being my fave but not the only reason :)

So leave a comment following the criteria above and good luck!!

Btw- feel free to pass it on to my hubby. Just sayin' ;)

This Miles and Maisie image was so fast and fun to colour. I had said I wasn't going to hand colour my Christmas cards this year because it takes too long but these ones didn't at all. I paired it with some of my new Christmas paper from SGD and also some of their uber sparkley candy dots- schweet!

For more sneak peeks before the big launch tomorrow hop on over to challenge blog and feel the Christmas spirit...while munching on all the fun Halloween bite size candies most of us have already starting filling our houses with hee hee! Cheers, Andi

Sneak Peek for today...Clara

Today I am sharing a card I made with Clara one of the new releases available this coming Tuesday from Kraftin' Kimmie stamps. Clara luvs her nutcracker sooo very much! I loved the Nutcracker Suite growing up- such a dark but romantic holiday story. I coloured her with my copics and used some of last years Basic Grey holiday paper in pinks, blues and greens. I almost forgot to use one of the matching brads that I picked up last year and immediately got put into the hoard pile. I am getting much better at making myself use craft items I would have previously just owned to look at and love it's prettiness. I know some if not all of you understand :)

Hop on over to the KKS challenge blog to see more DT sneak peeks and amazing creations!

I also want to give a shout out to my oldest DD who turned 14 this Saturday and is growing into an amazing young woman. I love you girl!

Cheers...Andi

KKS Challenge- Using Non-Traditional Christmas Colours

**Please note this is my second post for today. Please scroll down for my Oh Alice post**
This week's challenge is to use non-traditional Christmas colours on our cards. I used...like most of the KKS DT...the new Bo Bunny line of paper I grabbed from SGD with yummy purple, turquoise and green colours. It's nice to have something different to use besides the red and green I will be using tons of in the coming months. Oh and did you notice that this was a new Miles image? You betcha! We are starting our sneak peeks today as well for the release on Tuesday next week.

So hop on over to our challenge blog see how many of us used this same paper. I think it was a favourite for a few of us for this challenge lolz! Cheers...Andi

Oh Alice...KNocK..KnOcK..

"Alice laughed so much at this, that she had to run back into the wood for fear of their hearing her; and when she next peeped out the Fish-Footman was gone, and the other was sitting on the ground near the door, staring stupidly up into the sky.

Alice went timidly up to the door, and knocked.

`There's no sort of use in knocking,' said the Footman, `and that for two reasons. First, because I'm on the same side of the door as you are; secondly, because they're making such a noise inside, no one could possibly hear you.' And certainly there was a most extraordinary noise going on within--a constant howling and sneezing, and every now and then a great crash, as if a dish or kettle had been broken to pieces.

`Please, then,' said Alice, `how am I to get in?' ~Chapter 6, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Have you ever felt like Alice? Not sure which door, window, or keyhole will be opened or closed next? Not sure which direction you're going but curiouser and curiouser about them all?

What a PERFECT opportunity to explore some new avenues, and walk through new doors we bring you at Oh, ALice this week. Thats right! Your challenge this week is to create a card or project using a Door, Gate, or Keyhole. Now, you can also get creative and do a gatefold technique, etc. As long as we can see it's a "Gatefold" or that there is a door, gate, or keyhole somewhere on your project! How FUN is this?

The best part? There's no time limit to play this week, so have fun and here's to opening lots of new doors in the future! So click here to go to the challenge blog and see what other eye candy the DT has shared to help get your mojo going! Cheers....Andrea

PRC20- Button Up!

This week's mojo inspiring PRC challenge is to use 3 buttons on your card- at minimum. Nice and easy and helps to use up your button stash. Personally I have enough buttons for about 1000 cards but at least I made a dent in my hoard by using these 3 hee hee.

I used one of the new High Hopes images for Fall called "Angel bear ghost costume" and used my copics to colour her. I used my new florescent orange copic marker around the pumpkin to give it a glow. Some of the new Whoo-ligans paper helped to add the Halloween element I wanted. I really love this paper and have some saved for next year. I find that if I don't save a few sheets of my fave holiday paper the following year I suffer huge paper regrets. I know I know- I have issues :)

Do you have some buttons that need to be used up? Hop on over to the Paper Romance blog to read the challenge details on how to play and win. Also Amy is doing a DT call and would love for everyone to apply- you can also read more about the design team search on the blog.

Have a great day! Andrea

Look..I don't want to brag or anything BUT I MADE THIS :)

I am sooooo  proud of this beeeyooootiful chest I made over at SGD. Kim P taught this class and both Sheila (store owner) and I took it and I am so in love with it! It is so elegant and I just want to put it on my coffee table so I can keep looking at it for hours. I am not sure where in my house it is going to go yet....maybe in my boudoir. Fancy Shmancy eh?!?

I was thinking of making my daughters one for Christmas but wasn't sure if they would like it. Well considering they keep trying to lay claim to this one I would say it's a safe bet.

Kim put it all together and I know she used paper from Graphic 45 and the rest if from Tim Holtz. If you want to know about the chest itself leave me a message on here and I will find out the company name from Sheila.

I just had to share a pic as I just love it!!!! Cheers...Andrea

Kraftin' Kimmie stamps dares you to make a SpOoKy card....

I don't want to brag or anything but guess who the hostest is this week for KKS's challenge....nope not  her...nope not her either...keep guessing....you got it- that's right it's me! Yep play along with my challenge to make a sPoOkY card and you can win this dashing spectre- Horace. I coloured up Horace with my copics to match last year's MME Halloween paper that I picked up at SGD and hoarded till this year. The tree panel you see on the card is actually part of the packaging. I was about to throw it out with the plastic wrap from the package then realized that MME has nice panels of all the pages inside the package- great size for cards!

Pop on over to the challenge blog to read the full details to play along and to also check out who this month's Krafty guests are-another month of talented ladies on board!

Have a great Saturday and Happy Thanksgiving to all of us in Canada! One thing I am thankful for is you- my blog readers- I truly appreciate you popping by my little corner of the internet. Andi xoxo

Happy Anniversary..Happy Anniversary- sing it with me!!!

**please note this is my second post for today, pls scroll down for my Oh Alice card**

Happy Anniversary...HAAAPPPY ANNIVERSAARRYYYYYY.......hope that you aren't reading this first thing in the morning and my singing gave you a headache or worse...made you spill your cup of tea!! If so my apologies but I am just bursting with happiness and pride that my BSF Kimmie's stamping company- Kraftin' Kimmie's stamps is one year old!! In celebration I used one of Steven's new Miles stamps Birthday Friends and made a gift card holder. The green slot you see in the second picture is where you slide the gift card. I designed this project for the hugely successful Kraftin' Kimmie stampalooza we had last Saturday and I'm not just saying this because I made it but the ladies LOVED IT and it went over well.

Okay cue the dreamy sounding music...I still remember the day we were in her car and she made me promise to keep a HUGE secret....then she paused for what seemed like forever...and then she shared after I clutched my heart dramatically that she was starting her own stamp company. THUD!!!! Good thing I was already sitting down as let's face it...it's a dream many of us crafters have and she had the guts and courage to follow that dream and make it come true! And while she talked about her plans and goals and the steps she had already taken I was honestly just wondering if she was going to let me be on her Design Team....hee hee. I started practising my puppy dog eyes in my mind to be ready for whenever the subject of DT came up. We excitedly spent the whole ride talking about her new venture and what the name would be. I am pretty sure I am the one who thought up the name...(not really but it really makes her angry when I make stuff up so I do it all the time *giggle*). It's pretty much all we talked about for the next few months and I loved when she would send me artists she was finding to see what I thought of their work. And when Annie's images came along.....another huge THUD!!!!! Yep Love at First sight for that girl's mad skills!

Anyhoo...now that I am boo hoo'ing with happiness let's get on to the details of today's hop with it's special guests. And don't forget to leave a comment at each blog because there is candy hidden along the way!

We are celebrating in several ways….first of all, our challenge this week is to create a Celebration card! You can celebrate a birthday, an anniversary, graduation or even celebrate friendship! Whatever you feel like celebrating, just join in our challenge and ONE lucky stamper will win stamps from our OCTOBER release!! Yep!! That’s right….these images haven’t even been released yet and YOU could win some, so be sure to join in!! You have a week to play along!

Also, the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Shop is having a SALE!! Assorted images from all of our four lines of stamps are on sale from now until Monday, October 4th, so scoop up some for yourself or for gifts!!

Lastly, just wanted to give you another reminder to be sure to leave a comment on each and every stop along the hop because some lucky stampers will win some stamps!! Woohooooooo!

Okay, so if you are already hopping along you would have came from Tracy's blog (that girl is F.U.N!!) and your next stop after me is my good friend Krista who is going to teach me how she colours her cheeks on her images very soon!

Let's get wordy with 'Oh Alice'....

Alice didn't dare to argue the point, but went on: `-- and I thought I'd try and find my way to the top of that hill -- '

`When you say "hill,"' the Queen interrupted, `I could show you hills, in comparison with which you'd call that a valley.'

`No, I shouldn't,' said Alice, surprised into contradicting her at last: `a hill can't be a valley, you know. That would be nonsense -- '

The Red Queen shook her head, `You may call it "nonsense" if you like,' she said, ` but I've heard nonsense, compared with which that would be as sensible as a dictionary!'

--Ch. 2: Through the Looking Glass

I had so much fun making this card for my oldest DD's upcoming birthday. I stamped this image from my friend Angie- I think it's from TAC stamps and used some of my gorgeous new to me paper from Prima called Fairy Flora. With a name like that of course it had to come home with me! I stamped a sentiment from Unity stamps (Sept KOTM) and used some of my hoarded valentine's day paper that had a dictionary page about love to add my twisty words to my card.

Before I share why I added lots of words to my card I want to give LOTS of tea-toasting to our FABULOUS new October Guest at Tea: DONNA BUDZYNSKI! A VERY MERRY unbirthday to you, Donna! WELCOME!

So back to my 'wordy' card.....DT member Lynne is challenging us this week is to use TEXT in a NONSENSE way - not to read, but as a pattern in your card. Use a page from an old dictionary or other book, stamp a background text stamp or use a text-patterned paper in your creation. F.U.N...!!

The Greeting Farm is our SPONSOR this week, and not only are we thrilled to have them again, the prize just got sweeter! There is a RUBBER SINGLE OF CHOICE up for grabs for this challenge AS WELL as the highly-sought after "Wonderland" digital stamp set!

Click here to check out the full challenge details on our blog and to find out what the players in our twisted tea party have created to inspire you this week.
